I attended the prefect board's farewell party last Saturday night. It was a great party and everyone who attended it wore nice suits and dresses. Some had even had makeup on and had their hair done at a salon before going to the party. I wore to the party the same batik shirt which I wore the previous two years as I couldn't find my other dark green shirt. The atmosphere of the party was grand, thanks to the presence of the members of the electronic club who were helping out with the lighting and the musics.
The principal of the school, vice-principal, discipline master and our teacher advisors were present at the party too. The party started with a few speeches by the head prefects, outgoing S3&S2 prefects' representative, the principal, discipline master, etc, and then after that it was dinner. The food was kinda disappointing.... the lamb was so hard that it was like chewing on rubber. Besides that, there apparently weren't enough food at all and a few who attended the party had to go empty-stomach till some food were tapaued for them.
There were several performances during the party by the S1 and S2 prefects that had really entertained us. Among them were by four S2 prefects, performing the dance on Wonder Girls's Nobody MV. It was something like this:
Ian Chhoa, an S1 prefect, had performed the song "Fugainaiya" on piano which brought back memories of Honey & Clover of which the song was the opening theme. There were lots of mistake but it's still nice. After the performance he told me that it was an impromptu performance and that he had made many mistakes. I agreed with him that there were definitely many mistakes but he nevertheless did well.
Later after the principal and the other school administrators had left, the party continued on with more activities. One of the activities was a "catwalk" contest where eight pairs of prefect, each pair consisting of a male an female, would go onstage and do some "catwalking" and modeling. Then there's event where Gedeon was forced to announced to everyone who Chan, the ex-commander, had fancied. He hesitantly told everyone a pseudonym "sasa" and said that that was all he had knew.
The party ended at around 10:30pm. I was given what I had wished for - a DVD with anime stuffs. It didn't contain what I had expected but as I'm a lazy bum I'll let it go.
This marks an end in my high-school life. I'll be graduating from secondary school this coming Saturday and I hope I'll be able to obtain a full graduation cert.
